Start with your content, then choose a theme
Add a few real links and a short biography before choosing among the 33 themes. A layout that works with three short labels may feel different with a long project name or several text blocks. Compare the theme using the content visitors will actually read. Light, dark, illustrated and seasonal designs offer different starting points.
Use the options your theme supports
Some themes allow custom button colours, gradients, text and borders; others keep their own coordinated style. The available controls reflect that choice. Adjust a small number of details at a time so you can see what changed. Choosing a theme or editing appearance is a draft until you save; preview it before replacing the published version.
Choose images that read at small sizes
Upload a profile image with a recognisable subject and enough room around it. The profile preserves its proportions rather than forcing every image into a circle. Check the background behind the actual text, not just an empty part of the preview. A busy image can work better with fewer competing colours and concise labels.
Check text against the whole background
Look at long button labels and smaller text as well as the main heading. A gradient can have one readable end and another that is difficult to see. The editor's contrast warning is a prompt to inspect the result, not a substitute for doing so. Keep your intended colours while choosing combinations that visitors can comfortably read.
Compare mobile and desktop
Use both preview modes. Check the order of blocks, line wraps, contact details and image proportions without assuming a large-screen layout will fit a phone. Keep headings short enough to scan and allow useful space around touch controls. The preview shows your draft; the public address continues to show the saved page until you publish.
Save, then inspect the public page
Save the prepared changes and open your profile as a visitor. Check the theme, images and link destinations on a small screen and a desktop. If a block is temporary, hide it when it is no longer needed. There is no automatic version history for recovering discarded drafts, so use a data export where helpful and keep your original image files separately.
