Choose a channel you can make public
A dedicated email address or professional account can separate incoming enquiries from personal conversations. Think about where messages should arrive and who else can access that account. Publish a phone number only if you are comfortable with strangers keeping and sharing it. Email and phone links open the visitor's app; privtr/ee does not manage the resulting conversation.
Configure the Contact section
The contact card can include a title, organisation, note, email, phone number and website. Enable it only when you want those details public. Choose whether your profile displays links, the card or both. Card-only mode is useful for a focused contact page, but check the published result so you know which content visitors can access.
Check the downloadable file
The card's Save contact action downloads a .vcf file containing the published contact fields. Open it yourself before sharing your page widely. A downloaded contact file can remain on someone's device after you edit or remove the original. Keep the information focused on the public relationship you want to create.
Use the profile QR code
The optional QR code points to your public profile address. It is generated locally when someone asks to see it, without sending the profile to a remote QR provider. Check the code with a phone and consider contrast when choosing its appearance. If you change your profile address, update QR codes and links you have already distributed.
Explain the context and language
A brief label such as 'Work enquiries' or 'Community questions' helps people choose the right channel. State the languages you can answer and realistic expectations about response times. If you contact the privtr/ee team, use English or Spanish. Do not send passwords, private keys or session cookies when asking for help.
Keep the details current
Review your biography, contact fields, images and linked accounts together when your work or availability changes. If a channel closes, replace it where you share your profile too. Remember that screenshots, messaging previews and downloaded contact files can retain previous details. Updating the page does not recall those copies.
